As a kid, we spent a lot of time exploring and fishing almost every body of water in Alberta. I grew up in a small town, and my summers were spent, happily working on the farm. As I got older I worked oil-field and construction. While building was hard work, it was also a lot of fun. As a realtor today, that past building/construction experience is invaluable. It's extremely helpful to know what to look for and be able to spot potential deficiencies in a property.
In my late teens, I began teaching martial arts. I taught private lessons as well as large group classes to every spectrum of the social demographic. This included teaching the art form itself, self-defense to the general public and hand to hand combat to police and military. I genuinely enjoyed teaching and wondered how I could help even more people with this knowledge. As a result, I started a business providing personal protection. It was at that time, that I realized my purpose and just how much I enjoyed the role of protector.
In early 1997, I began my career as a real estate professional. I brought that same inherent 'need to protect' into real estate. Listening to people’s needs and treating each investment decision as if it were my own.
